I am a textile artist/illustrator from Cornwall who uses stitch and layering to make illustrative and decorative work, incorporating existing features and alterations on used, vintage and recycled materials. I Purposefully bruise, unstitch and stain making my work have a seemingly incomplete quality. My technique is mostly appliqué with old fabrics of different weights, stitched predominately by hand with some machine embroidery when necessary. I enjoy the inherent history of the material often finding connections between subject matter and material.
My subject matter is primarily portraits and narratives, characters and therianthropy within Folk lore. Magic realism in fabric. There is also something a little dark about my imagery, unclothed figures, stains and mad looking animals give my work an edge.

Born in Truro in 1990 I grew up in a small village called Embroidery and went to a tiny village primary school. Both my parents and grandmother where craftsmen and artists, i admired what they did and from a very young age dreamt of doing the same. I went to school in St Ives and on to Truro College where i studied Art, Textiles, History of Art and Music. I went to University College Falmouth to do my Art Foundation where i realised that fabric and all its qualities fascinated me. I spent a year at Goldsmiths College, London studying Fine Art and then three years studying Illustration at UWE, Bristol. I graduated with a first class BA Hons in 2013. I am now working in a small studio in Newlyn.
